Turkey and Syria

In February 2023, devastating earthquakes struck south-eastern Turkey and Syria, followed by numerous aftershocks which has caused death and devastation to the countries.

Our thoughts are with our global community of staff, students and alumni who have been affected.

The Council for At-Risk Academics (Cara)

Our partner, Cara, (the Council for At-Risk Academics) launched an urgent appeal to support participants of Cara’s Syria Programme, exiled Syrian academics who have lived in Turkey for years with their families and have been affected by the devastating earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.
